17 life lessons we must all learn

The truth is that life teaches us many things that we can sometimes not understand or explain. However, in one way or another, there are hundreds of life lessons that will reach us all, regardless of whether or not we can make use of them.

Many of these life lessons have been with us for a long time; however, sometimes we choose to ignore them; however, applying them would allow us to feel much better and with greater well-being in our life. Let’s look at some of these important life lessons below …

1. Live life without fear

“The important thing is to fight to live life, to suffer it, to enjoy it, lose with dignity and dare again. Life is wonderful if you are not afraid of it.”

-Charlie Chaplin-

2. Stop complaining

Before complaining, look around you and give thanks for what you have …

3. Dare to take risks

“With each day that I live, I am more convinced that the waste of life lies in the love that has not been given, in the powers that have not been used, in the selfish prudence that risks nothing and that, avoiding pain, prevents us from achieving happiness.”

4. Don’t miss opportunities

“In life, there are three things that do not go back: the arrow launched, the word pronounced, and the lost opportunity.”

-Chinese proverb-

5. Be honest, it’s better than lying

“Sincerity will always lead us to hate each other a little”

-Mario Benedetti-

6. Love is accepting the other

True love is not reduced to the physical or the romantic; true love is the acceptance of everything that the other is, of what has been, what will be, and what is no longer.

7. Each person has their own vision of the world

The way you see the world is your personal version of it. No one else shares the same version of reality.

8. There is no lack of time, but of interest

There is no lack of time; there is a lack of interest because when people really want to, dawn becomes day, Tuesday becomes Saturday, and one moment becomes an opportunity.

9. Find the meaning of life

Remember that life’s meaning is not precisely to obtain everything we want, but rather to know how to share everything we have and know.

10. Life is short

Life is short; break the rules, forgive fast, kiss slowly, truly love, laugh hard and never regret something that made you happy.

11. Conquer your fears

“I learned that courage is not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not the one who does not feel fear, but the one who conquers that fear.”

-Nelson Mandela-

12. Appreciate what you have

Sometimes we don’t value the people who are closest to us. We can always count on those family members or those friends who are always willing to give us a hand. We only appreciate what we have if we ever lose it.

13. Take care of your friends

A friendship does not grow by the presence of people but by the magic of knowing that you carry them in your heart even though you see them.

14. Value who is real

True friendship isn’t about who came first or who knows you the longest. It’s about who came and never left.

15. Take care of people

If you do not take care of someone in your present, do not expect to see them in the future because by then, you will already be their past.

16. Family is not always by blood

The family is the people in your life who want you in theirs. They are those who accept you for who you are: those who would do anything to see you smile and those who love you no matter what. Many people do not find in their blood family the support that other people do give them, which is so because blood is not the most important thing when we speak in terms of love.

17. Resist

I like the verb “resist.” Resist what imprisons us, prejudices, hasty judgments, the desire to judge, everything that is evil in us and that only wants to express itself, the desire to abandon, the need to complain, The need to talk about oneself to the detriment of the other, to fashions, unhealthy ambitions, to ambient confusion. Resist, and … smile

-Emma Dancourt-

Now is the time for you to apply all these lessons to your life to enjoy everything that is within your reach, knowing how to value what you have, and enjoying great well-being. Free yourself from prejudices and beliefs, and start smiling. Life is to be experienced with all the senses. These life lessons put into practice can add color to it even in the most difficult moments.
